Thelma J. Robinson

There comes a time in every person's life that they must launch out on the path that the Lord has predestined for their life. Thelma J. Robinson has chosen to walk in the steps that God has ordered with the release of her debut CD "Waiting On The Lord" (November 2002). This woman of God has waited on the Lord; each song composed by Thelma was birthed by her own personal testimonies. "Waiting On The Lord" explodes with a message of hope. Thelma is blessed with an extraordinary gift that ushers in the Holy Spirit.

Even though "Waiting On The Lord" is Thelma’s first musical project, her Christian journey has allowed her to render musical selections throughout the United States for many years. Her accomplished background includes:  being a member of the Gospel Music Association (GMA), Urban Gospel Alliance (UGA), Women in Ministry, and Chapters Ark (London, UK) to name a few.

Even with the success of “Waiting On The Lord”, God expanded Thelma’s musical territory with her sophomore CD project “Heal The Land”, which was officially released in November 2003. Robinson’s latest CD embarks upon the sounds of contemporary as well a little bit of seasoned, old-time gospel music, that is evident in the Mahalia Jackson sound of “New Creature”.

In 2006, Thelma hosted her first ever Higher Praise & Worship Conference, a weekend event held in Augusta, Georgia that was totally devoted to the concept of praise and worship. The conference featured Mother Willie Mae Rivers, the General Supervisor of the Women’s Department for the Church of God In Christ, Inc. (COGIC) of Goose Creek, South Carolina and the renowned Elder Bernice A. King of, youngest daughter of the late civil rights leaders, Rev. Dr.  Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King of Atlanta, GA.

With a new direction and a fresh outlook on life, God has put Thelma’s writing abilities back to work on her latest release “Pressing On” (2009). Teej’s Productions is very excited and elated to present such a woman of class and morality to the world. Thelma’s voice is truly her own. Her genuine love for Christ and gospel music is demonstrated in every word, verse and note she sings. God has given Thelma an overwhelming amount of strength and knowledge. Her energy and passion is felt in all her stellar performances.

Thelma firmly believes that without the knowledge of one’s past history, people cannot successfully progress into the future. Although gospel music was introduced to Thelma by her paternal grandmother years ago, she continues to educate youth as well as adults about the important role of gospel music in today’s society. Robinson says, “Music is a voice that my ancestors used to express their hardships to each other and to God. I use that same music to express my feelings to God and the world”.
